Although he never won a national championship at UConn, he did help UConn win the 1996 Big East Championship in one of the more electric and memorable games in UConn history. Ray Allen, apart from probably being the best men's basketball player in UConn history, really helped usher in an era in which UConn became #1 in the country for the first time, and enabled the program to take a leap nobody thought was possible, except for he and the other players who played on those 1993-1996 teams.
