UConn Girls Blitz Houston; Texas Next

Houston came into this game 14-4 and I thought the game, at Houston, would be mildly competitive. But it turns out Houston is awful, and UConn took them to woodshed and spanked them by 60 in front of their fans.

Azure Stevens today had 19 points and 10 boards in 25 minutes, after a 19-10 game in 18 minutes against UCF. That’s 38 points and 20 boards in her last 44 minutes. That’s pretty effective and efficient production from a 6th man.

Next is Texas Monday night, at Texas. Make no mistake- this is one of 3 losable games left on schedule, along with South Carolina and undefeated Louisville.

I think this team is as flawed as last years team. stevens is pretty good. It might just be that the competition got better than we did over the summer. we are still the best team by a good margin but this team is beatable.

Having Stevens is a huge advantage that we didn't have last year. Walker can play too. Ideally, we could use another ball handler off the bench, but Geno probably wouldn't play her anyway.

Coombs is the other ballhandler off the bench and she did get 17 minutes yesterday.

They won by 60. Is Geno playing Coombs up 5 Monday night if Kia or Crystal pick up their 4rth foul in the 4rth quarter? He'd go big with Megan before he does that imo.
