Rahsool Diggins: had 4 point coming off the bench in each of the first 2 UMass games, playing 17 and then 18 minutes in each game.

Corey Floyd: DNP in Providence's opening 1 point win over Rider

Akok Akok: 18 points, 12 boards, 5 blocks in Georgetown's narrow opening win over Coppin State.

Jalen Gaffney: 10 points in Florida Atlantic's opener.

Since we got a look at Akok last night here's some more profiles/updates......

Ave- 6.8 ppg/ 7.3 reb/ 2.0 blks

JG who's now starting--- Ave- 7.6 ppg/ 3.1 reb/ 2.4 asst

Diggins has started 4 games despite terrible shooting #'s---- Ave- 3.2 ppg/ 1.1 reb/ 2.5 asst

Floyd is getting very little PT so far at PC... Ave-8.1 mins - 3.1 ppg/ 1.4 reb/ 0.3 asst

And one more.... remember him ?... Seems like he's a bust and hardly gets off the bench at TX A&M...

In hindsight basically all of these departures were additions by subtraction because their replacements have proven to be better players, or else better fits for the UConn team and Hurley's system. You can't really look at any of these guys and say, "wish we had them back." In the case of Diggins and Brown, I think these were 2 cases of poor prospect identification. Diggins was highly rated, I think even more than Gaffney, but was probably vastly overrated.
