That was a legit great performance by the UConn girls tonight. Yes, they played an Xavier team that only had 8 players and they are struggling, but 37-0 runs are hard to come by in Big East games. More impressively, every single girl on the team played well tonight, including the end of the bench. Piath Gabriel had 11 points and 5 boards in 7 minutes!!!!!!!! She and Amari DeBerry looked like very very serviceable or better bigs who will be rotation players next year. Ducharme and Ododa also looked good coming back from injuries.
When you play 10 girls and they all play well and contribute, it's a great thing. Tonight was easily the most balanced performance of the year.
Let's hope the men can make it a sweep of the Xavier teams and hand them a similar revenge beatdown for last week.
