I watched the Duke-UNC game last night, and as I saw Zion Williamson’s sneaker explode apart and the poor kid crumple to the Court in agony clutching his knee, with his socked foot exposed, all I could think of was what the heck kind of sneaker was that. Turns out it was Paul George’s sneaker and he wants to know what went wrong, having suffered a serious leg injury himself a few years back:

I never saw a sneaker malfunction like that ever in history and I am wondering who is making those shoes and what kind of quality control is going on. It also occurred to me that maybe someone tampered with those sneakers for something like that to happen.

Are the UConn kids wearing those shoes?

Nike claims it has “opened an investigation.” I wonder if it was me that was videotaped wearing those sneakers, and having them explode on me while playing center in the 5’5” and under rec league, and suffering the same injury, whether Nike would “open an investigation?” I think not.
