FB Recruiting Transfer Defensive Tackle visiting this weekend

After speaking with a source, we have confirmed that UConn Football will be hosting former Butler CC / Kansas State signee Malcolm Alcorn Crowder will be on campus this weekend and as long as the visit goes well, this should end in favor of the Huskies.

Now the name might sound familiar, as the UConn Report mentioned him back in November as one of several JUCOs to keep an eye on in the 2024 class, but he ended up signing with Kansas State, but re-entered the portal in early March. The former three-star defensive tackle someone with great size and athleticism and could be able to contribute right away to whatever team he joins. Joined Butler C.C.

This past Fall as a member of the Butler CC program, Crowder finished earning JCGridiron All-American Second-Team honors as he finished with 28 total tackles, 10 tackles for loss, seven sacks and two forced fumbles.

Basketball Quick update around CBB world...

As many of you have probably seen all over social media, Kentucky head coach John Calipari is likely headed to Arkansas thus creating an opening for Kentucky.

Now how does this effect UConn? Good question. So it sounds like one of UK's top targets would be Danny Hurley per a source. Now I fully expect UConn to match whatever amount is potentially thrown at Hurley, but it is something to monitor at the very least as the Wildcats will be big name chasing a bit for their next coach.

Some of the other names rumored include Jay Wright (retired), Billy Donovan (Bulls HC), Nate Oats (Alabama) and Scott Drew (Baylor). End of the day, this whole thing likely just results in another Hurley extension, but something to monitor at the very least.

Basketball Hoops RoundTable -- Are you taking the Huskies or the field?

UCONN IS THE FAVORITE TO EMERGE FROM THE 2024 FINAL FOUR AS THE NATIONAL CHAMPION. ARE YOU TAKING THE HUSKIES OR THE FIELD?

Cassidy: Give me the Huskies. I’ll usually take the field in this genre of question, but Dan Hurley’s bunch looks to be in a different class than the other three teams for a month or so now. Obviously this month is built on upsets but the depth at work on this UConn roster is unmatched. Add in the fact that center Donovan Clingan is one of few bigs in the country with the size, agility and discipline to slow down Purdue’s Zach Edey should the Boilermakers and Huskies meet in the title game on Monday. Will Alabama make a million 3s and knock UConn out on Saturday now that I’ve picked the Huskies? Of course it will, so Tide fans can feel free to DM me their thanks in advance.

Jordan: No doubt about it, I'll take UConn. I could go deep and give a couple of hot takes on why, but I’ll just say this: The Huskies held Illinois, an offensive juggernaut, to the infamous goose egg and reeled off 30-straight points simultaneously. That will never not be my reason for picking the Huskies. I also think the national championship will be boring because it will be decided fairly early on. Mark my words.
