Let's hope the boys have put the last game behind them and come out aggressive to start the game. We lost to them earlier in the year to another second half collapse so hopefully they will be looking for revenge.

Must win game. But also a must play well game, especially the last 5 minutes of each half.

I kind of think UConn has to take 2 out of the next 3 at home against Tulsa and SMU and on the road against Cincy. I think UConn will be fine at the end of each of half as long as the point guard isn't benched for the half and the legs are all kept fresh.

If Rodney Purvis is on the court Khalid, anything can and probably will happen.

No Adams to start.

Jalen looks out of it. Sick or something... So far only half speed.

Too many offensive rebounds allowed. And 50/50 balls should be called 20/80's for this team.

At halftime UConn is shooting 59.1% FGs and Tulse is shooting 31.8%. As Tim Welsh has noted, UConn isn't really producing offense off of their defense, as good as it's been.

Why isn't Hamilton at the FT line like Welsh had said 20 times against the zone?

Gibbs misses the bunny and the pass for a dunk. Miller needs to get a touch there. Now he misses the FT. Good lawd.

UConn allowed 31.8% FGs first half and 48% for the game, so obviously there was a huge problem with the defense in the second half. There were a lot of fouls by the UConn bigs who are a foul prone group. The foul trouble seemed to cause a lot of problems with the defense but what I saw was fatigued looking defensive rotations, although Tulsa should be given credit for moving the ball well. But it's the second shaky closeout in as many games. Gibbs looked tired at the end when he missed the layup, it was a tired looking shot and I think he was anticipating contact that never came, which he does a lot.

Hamilton got away with a blatant push off on that rebound at the end, but I am sure nobody will shed any tears for Tulsa not getting that call. UConn was again lights out at the FT line (13-14) and last I checked was #6 in the country in FTs.

UConn needs a little more from Adams on offense but he made a nice hustle blocked shot and grabbed a key O-board at the end so it's not like he was no help. Gibbs 4 straight FTs at the end but it amazes me that they can't get him more looks at open 3s. Gibbs pretty much is a 3 point shooting specialist- he really doesn't do anything else all that great. He is a solid player but nothing more.

All you can say is that it was a win, but to go from a 20 point lead to barely winning by 2 one game after blowing a 12 point lead late is very disappointing.

I can't remember a team playing Thursday Saturday. Seems odd. Imagine if Uconn could play 40 minutes would br scary for teams in tourney

Glad we got the win but we had another second half meltdown that could've ended ugly. It has been a consistent trend where we play well in the first half then all of a sudden look like a completely different team in the second half. We cannot play like we did against SMU this Thursday or else we will stand no chance. This will be one of the biggest tests for us this year so let's hope we execute down the stretch.

It's very strange but I think it's the same deal next week with Thursday-Saturday games. However the team is deep enough that this really should not excuse what looked like significant late game fatigue.

If they want to play in the ncaa tournament they will be playing thursday/Saturday or friday/Sunday

Might as well get use to it. I think pac 12 schedules this way

A few issues come to mind about why this is happening. Firstly, the foul situation. It's difficult to maintain any type of consistency when the lineup is constantly being shuffled in the final ten minutes due to foul difficulty. I don't keep track of these things, but it's been rare lately for UConn to get into the bonus before the opponent, and it seems like the opponent usually gets there several minutes before UConn. Secondly, there's the rebounding. UConn can play great defense for 30 seconds, but if the other team gets 2nd and 3rd chances, eventually they're going to score. Additionally, it's tiring to play defense, especially if you have to play it for 45 seconds during a possession. On the other side of the court, UConn doesn't challenge the defense for the full shot clock. How many times is UConn holding the ball 30 feet out with ten seconds on the shot clock? The pass-it-around-the-perimeter offense doesn't force the defense to expend much energy. It seems like UConn is wearing down sooner than the other team - which might play into the foul situation as well.

On a separate issue, not to pile on about basketball IQ (or lack thereof), why on earth would you throw a full-court Hail Mary pass (which went untouched) with a lead and 1.5 seconds on the clock?
