i don't understand why an offense cannot advance a fumble, but it can reverse a fumble. Watching FSU- NC State game and NC State QB, on his own 2 yard line, drops back and fumbles ball in end zone, and then bats it back through the end zone for a safety. If he can't advance a fumble why should he be able to bat it in reverse? Should have been a penalty and a TD for FSU. Players should have to recover their fumbles or lose them. I would have liked to have seen a mad scrum in end zone for the fumble. Can one of you football experts explain to me how this rule makes any sense?
