The Huskies continue to put up video game numbers on the diamond. After a bad start on the road despite some wins vs
#3 Vandy, #9 UNC and #28 Miami. Uconn is back from the first month, as usual, in places like Puerto Rico, FLA, NC and Cali. And now are on fire winning 16 out of 17 while putting up double digit runs 9 games in a row. ....."The 29 runs is the most since scoring 32 runs against Rhode Island on March 25, 1997 "

Beau Root is the grandson of Tim McCarver, a longtime great catcher in MLB. He was the starting catcher for the Cardinals for their 1964 and 1967 World Ssries Championship teams (and an all star), and caught Bob Gibson's modern MLB record 1.12 ERA in 1968, after which MLB reduced the height of the pitching mound to reduce pitcher dominance. McCarver was later the "personal catcher" for HOF pitcher Steve Carlton when he was with the Phillies in the second half of his career.

Those are some pretty good bloodlines that Root has.

Good find, didn't know that, I remember he even spent time in Boston at one point
