Maui Bracket Released

OSU is coming off a tough season in which they went 12-20, 3-15 in Big 12. Looks like they had a lot of bad losses but now they have a new coach.

I had forgotten that the last time UConn was in Maui they won the tournament. That was during the 2011 national championship run when UConn blew out Kentucky in the Maui championship game when UK tried to cover Kemba Walker with UK defensive specialist Liggett and Kemba lit him up like a Christmas Tree. UK played UConn a whole lot tougher in the Final 4 but lost again.

That Maui Championship game was one of the best tournament games I have ever seen UConn play. Oriakhi was also a beast that game and UConn was leading by over 30 at one point if I recall correctly over a young but talented UK squad. UK just got hosed that game. Giffey also played great that game from what I remember.

We also won it the time before Kemba's run in 2005 with a Denham Brown title game buzzer beater vs Gonzaga (unsure if Adam Morrison cried or not, but chances of rain were probably high :D).

Talk about a big difference in winning or losing the 1st game. You win and you play UNC which win or lose is huge to get on our schedule. You lose and you play Chaminade, ouchhh. Gotta have that 1st game in our situation

The team RPI's from last year

Mon., Nov. 21 – Wed., Nov. 23 at Maui Invitational
UConn (33)
UNC (5), Oregon(4), WISC (36 ), G-town (103), TENN (143), OK St. (180)

UConn has to get to UNC in the second round and get the RPI juices flowing. I noticed Chaminade doesn't have an RPI, which is probably because they are Division 3, and I think it may be total RPI destruction to have to play them.

If I recall I don't think non- D-1 games count towards your NCAA record or your RPI

We have to win this thing for confidence down the road!!

UNc will be bad and catching them early will be good thing.... Oregon lost some good talent... Wisky I don't know too much about but they are not a usual wisky. Gtown and/or Tennessee we will be favored as well!!

How will UNC be bad? They will still have a lot of talent, especially in the front court.

UConn gets Oklahoma State in the 1st Round, likely matchup with UNC in the 2nd.

Sad sad news, he was from Raleigh, NC and was Rodney's " little brother"
Oklahoma State forward had just begun to blossom before his death

Story from 2 weeks ago - Coger had an operation in HS to remove fluid from around his brain and moved in with his godmother, Shanda, mother of Connecticut guard Rodney Purvis, in eighth grade

I don't know if heatstroke can enlarge an already defective heart, but back in March in a MLB spring training game in Bradenton, Florida between the Yankees and Pirates, I saw an older gentleman suffer heatstroke and it was a horrible thing to watch. I have never in my life seen perspiration fauceting out of another human being like that and it was horrible to watch. That guy was stretchered out of the ballpark and I never knew what happened to him.
