This is another team that seems to be relying on a lot of freshman players. They won their 2 exhibitions against division 3 Southern Maine and Husson by 46 and 14 points, respectively. This will be the 100th all-time meeting between Maine and UConn with the Huskies holding an 83-16 advantage. Maine's last win in the series came on Feb. 15, 1978 when it defeated UConn 79-73 on Feb. 15, 1978. UConn has won 12-straight in the series including a 95-68 victory in the latest meeting held Dec. 6, 2013 at the XL Center in Hartford. The Black Bears last win at UConn came on Feb. 19, 1976 when it topped the Huskies 64-63. The first ever meeting in the series took place during the 1921-22 season. Maine has only played five other Division-I schools more total times then it has UConn (New Hampshire, Vermont, Boston University, Northeastern, Rhode Island).
