That record of UConn going 13-13 between men and women in NCAA finals is incredible, as is the 88% FT shooting record by the UConn men last year, the 19% FG defense and 10 blocks (both records) in 2011, and the 11 straight postseason wins in 2011. The women of course won 90 games in a row which is an NCAA record.
What happened to Kentucky last night is similar to what happened to the Michigan Fab 5 in 1993 in the finals and Duke to UConn in the 1999 finals. The more experienced team beat the more talented team on all 3 occasions. Experience is everything because in the high pressure games at this level you have to execute and proper execution takes time and hard work. UK has a formula to get to the Final 4 but once you get there you have to win it, and they have been coming up short.
