16) Brandon Johnson, 6-8, 200, F, Jr., Western Michigan
Stats: 15.4 ppg, 8.1 rpg
Scout’s take: “Inside/out guy who has a motor. Can defend BCS size at the four. Shoots 3’s and can score in the post. Is a competitor. Can definitely help a high-major team and carve out a role on a good team.”
Schools: Cincinnati, UConn, Dayton, Minnesota, New Mexico, South Alabama, Tulane
True and a better % than Akok, Adams, Gaffney, Gilbert
Good call, that looks like it's it. Plus DH's gonna need Richie to step up big time off the bench until Akok (?) can make it back if Sanogo is a Seton Hall lean,So Sanogo or bust?
Starting 5 of ?
Pg-Cole
Sg-Bouk
Sf-Polley
PF- Whaley(since Akok will likely start the year on the shelf)
C-Carlton
Yeah I don't see it either .....the key will probably be if Martin can play, but Nolley is an underclassman too, so if one gets a waiver, you'd think both would. And they really only need one. (plus there's been talk Nolley might even go pro) So I think they're all set at the wing/ 3 spot with some of the 3 guard lineups DH is talking about playing if Martin gets the one-time transfer waiver.....Nolly is the same position as Martin so why would he even consider UConn? Besides that, it is fairly clear that the other scholarship needs to be used on a big man due to questions on whether Polley or Akok will be able to play as well as questions on the readiness of JBF and Springs.
Regarding Sanogo, Seton Hall just landed his HS point guard as a grad transfer from Harvard and that may have bolstered SHU's recruitment of Sanogo:

It's funny what a difference a year makes and you have to give Hurley credit for adding more size across the board and building up the roster. Last year we talked all summer about the hope of getting just one big to play behind Josh for foul trouble. Thread- This years rosterRichie Springs and Adama Sanogo seem very similar and I can certainly see Springs being as good a player as Sanogo is- but we need Sanogo for depth. And I have seen tape on Springs and I think Springs will be good. At this point it is just a question of having enough bodies and size. We know Carlton is very foul prone, and we also know Akok will likely miss most of the season. So that leaves Whaley as the only experienced big besides Carlton, but if you have 3 freshmen behind them it is better than 2.

New article today with quotes on Martin and the roster from DH:I wonder if DH banks the scholly if Martin gets the waiver & he doesn't get the player he wants for 13 ?
True and I think it was mutual...with Uconn having no need /wanting him.. even though he had them on his so called Top 11 list...LOL!....the need's a legit big as mentioned aboveNolly is the same position as Martin so why would he even consider UConn?
Front page article has some good DH quotes on Springs:Richie Springs and Adama Sanogo seem very similar and I can certainly see Springs being as good a player as Sanogo is- but we need Sanogo for depth. And I have seen tape on Springs and I think Springs will be good.
He did and he was going to............ that's why I don't know why it's even being discussed...it shouldn't be....... because it's been a moot point for a while now...from James himself....This is being discussed somewhat dramatically in social media but it's completely contrived drama because Bouknight wasn't on any draft boards and isn't really ready for the NBA at this stage. He does have NBA talent, but he needs to improve in a number of areas. Players who are far better than he is have stayed in college for 3 years, and I think from the physical standpoint he would be well served to do the same.
One other thing, now that this years deadline has passed and they know who's in or out....James is listed as a 1st round pick on today's new ESPN mock for 2021:Bouknight wasn't on any draft boards .
