Huskie fans you are getting a first class act in Don Patterson as your Asst Head Coach and Quarterbacks Coach. I got to know Coach P when he was Head Coach at Western Illinois, my alma mater after spending 21 years on Hayden Fry's staff at Iowa. Coach P was at Iowa when Diacco was a player then hired him as a position coach at WIU. He will bring experience and will be valuable advisor for Diacco. Coach P is a graduate of West Point, # 1 cadet in his Senior Class. He will definitely be an asset to the Huskie program.

I agree, and I like that Diaco is adding some experience and linkage with his first 2 hires. His first, Mike Foley.
has been a strength with the OL for Uconn while he gives Diaco some familiarity with Uconn's current players.
And it's nice to hear about Patterson, here's a UB perspective read from his days as a cadet at West Point to his
years as a HC himself to the stop he took at UB just to get back in coaching after being a cancer survivor:
