Vannini: This group includes several coaches with high marks in a small sample size who could move up a tiers quickly (Aranda, Beamer, Elko, Lanning, Sumrall, Wommack) and others with a longer run of solid results (Candle, McElwain, Mora, Houston, Helton, Hoke, Kill, Stockstill). Jerry Kill is 165-110 as a head coach and has righted the ship at several places, like Northern Illinois and Minnesota. Last year he took New Mexico State to its second bowl game in six decades.
