Here are the highlights of the Zoom call:
- Piath Gabriel (non basketball related surgery), Paige Bueckers (ankle surgery), Aliyah Edwards (with Canadian national team in preparation for the Olympics), Azzi Fudd (USA U-19 team) are all out for the summer as far as practicing and being with team in Storrs
- Geno praises Piath Gabriel's improvements in practice over the past year which were not visible to UConn fans
-Geno lauds the versatility and experience of Dorka J
- Geno praises Caroline Ducharme as possibly underrated at #5 in the nation, comparing her to Ann Strother in versatility and shooting ability (while noting that she is shorter than Strother), and calling her an "edgy player", which he likes
- Geno heaps praise on the UConn baseball and softball teams and their coaching staffs, and noted that Jim Penders asked him to speak to the team, which he said he was happy to do because he loves baseball, loves the UConn team and is a huge Tyler Fedko fan.
