"UConn athletics is in the midst of an ambitious fundraising push. Donations will likely surpass $20 million this fiscal year and could reach the department’s single-year record of $21.7 million......Edsall hopes former UConn players have a role in the next phase of fundraising that he will also invest in. To help raise another $1 million, Edsall has pledged to match donations with a gift of 10 percent for every $250,000 – up to $100,000 out of his pocket."
