Official FB Roster up on Uconn website

" Since roster was first posted a few days ago, TE Quinn Thompson and FB Alex Haendler have been taken
off roster"NHR- Shelton's Hashemi off to a good start at UConn
" Diaco was asked whether they had enough depth at tight end after redshirt freshman Quinn Thompson
(the leading receiver with five catches in the spring game) left the program...... The 6-foot-6, 262-pound
Hashemi was the first player to commit to UConn after Diaco was hired and he has been impressive enough that
redshirt freshman Michael Boland was shifted to defensive end........"Alec Bloom, we are taking a look at (as a tight end),"
Diaco said. "I have to watch the tape but to me it looked pretty good today (with) Steve Hashemi at tight end so we
are excited about those guys. We moved Michael Boland out of there, back to the position that he came here to play
and he is very excited about it. We feel good about the tight end position.

It was unreported why he left, it was mentioned that he "transferred this summer", he wasn't on the 2-deep to start camp
and he had a JR starter( McQuillan ) and a RS Fr (Tommy Myers) in front of him. But double TE sets could be a big part
of the power offense Diaco will run, so it seems he would've had plenty of chances to get on the field with guys shuffling
in and out/ or injuries. Uconn will only have 2 true FR( one who's really an OT) as back-up TE's, behind the guys above
this year.

Don't like to speculate but it could be other reasons or that he wasn't retained, seeing that it's now up to 10 players
with eligibility left, more than half that were starters/regulars, who've been part of the house cleaning or left this new
staff for various reasons.

Here's a TE article from SNY:

Update that was retweeted by a NHR writer, he's enrolled at a D-3 school, I guess he'd rather focus on school,
than deal with the D-1 grind:

@CraigSmylie

"Gen McLane grad Quinn Thompson says he's transferring from UConn to Baldwin Wallace. Wants to focus on his future; not only football "

a few more :
DB Tyree Clark no longer member of UConn squad"Reserve defensive back Tyree Clark, who had 15 tackles as a sophomore including eight in making his lone start against Temple, is no longer a part of the UConn squad." Also scratch walk-on Dan Carbonaro, an offensive lineman from Oxford.
