.........to state the obvious this has been the end game for these schools and conferences that I've been bitching about
on this board for the last 5 years............ the only school to vote against the measures was Boston College,
I'm sure Uconn would take their place if they want out....LOL !

It's the start of benefits that will destroy the competition in recruiting and right on down. What's to stop the P-5
from creating a rule that they can cherry pick lower conferences top players with no sit out transfer year ? Levels
of loans on future earnings ? It's endless....

Because now they have
1. rules of their own.....
2. benefits that only they can afford because they hoard all the money (tax-exempt by the way so they can
continue to pay themselves at the highest level of their administrations)
3. While they hammer non-P-5 schools with sanctions and penalties or keep everyone else under a microscope as
they waive or overlook the same sins of P-5 schools.( this has been a clear pattern)
4. And with schools like UAB already dropping FB the clock is ticking for tons of non-P-5 sports to be dropped
nationwide.

Yahoo- Big 5 pass cost of attendance increase and more

The irony in all this is you had a couple of hundred D-1 schools ( don't play FB/ have tiny AD's)
who have no horse in this race...... voting to give 65 schools autonomy.....while there are
really only about another 20-30 schools that get screwed by this vote and are effected by it.

And why would 200 or so bottom feeders vote to go along with the top 65 ? Because if they
don't the P-5 will tell them we're leaving and taking our hoops money and tourney invitation
that you get once in awhile with us. And schools like Cincy, Uconn, USF etc. who've lost their
BCS status and been colluded against can't make a peep because they need to play nice
hoping for an invite that may or may not come.......Yep it's a dark day because of greed
and entitlement in college sports. The day of the big fish in a small pond is just about
over .......more like a bunch of ordinary fish in a pond that is drying up.

Yep. Inevitable.

Just want UConn to still get their just dues as our AD is inside the top 65 when it comes to revenue etc...

On top of it you have an institution like UNC, that even in the face of their current scandal, seems untouchable. The almighty dollar. Politics, influence...rich get richer.
