Was just provided on national TV by Seth Greenberg of ESPN. He said UConn fans and players can’t relate or get into the AAC and they need to get out of AAC and into the Big East. He specifically said, UConn “doesn’t fit into the AAC.”
Unfortunately, Greenberg’s statement is supported by numerous threads on this board which have promoted the idea that the AAC sucks, it’s inferior, UConn doesn’t belong in it, and deserves to be elsewhere.
Greenberg’s theory is that because there are no rivalries that fans can relate to, they aren’t interested. But it’s actually gone one step further - not only no rivalries, but the idea that the AAC is inferior and it’s teams all suck has promoted a fan apathy preventing the building of new rivalries.
Of course, left unsaid by Greenberg is that fans are even less interested when UConn struggles to beat teams like Columbia and Monmouth while getting blown out by 2 Power 5 Teams in PK80.
I do not believe too many posters here can disagree with Greenberg as your posts have informed him.
