" The scoop: The Death Star in Storrs is fully activated again. UConn can trot out a ludicrous shooter in Ball next to an extremely good shooter in Karaban next to a five-star freshman in Mullins, who can shoot the cover off it. Splash City, indeed. Toss in Reed, a double-double machine in the paint, and Demary, a jumbo creator who shot over 37% from downtown himself on nearly five attempts per game, and you've got something from a raw talent perspective. A top-10 offense is in the cards when you infuse this collection of talent into the best schematic offense you can find in the sport......Dan Hurley's squad has a chance to be filthy good. "

Should have some fun nights if AK gets back to his higher 3pt form with less pressure, if the shooting around him now delivers. Surprised a little with Mullins as a starter until he learns the Uconn system( instead of J-Stew) but I've seen he has range out to 25-27 ft. Either way, he would be a great 1st off the bench at both the 2 and 3 spots. Lots of options and depth including down to the veteran pick ups recently, who could have plug and play abilty if needed.... fouls, etc.

This is the 3rd or 4th UConn starting lineup projection I have seen with Mullins in and J-Stew out, but all came from national analysts who do not regularly cover UConn. I agree with you, I tend to see J-Stew as the more likely starter early in the season due to the experience, defense and rebounding edges which he provides. I see Mullins as an electric scorer off the bench. All of this can and may change as the season goes on.

I continue to be pleasantly surprised that UConn hung on to J-Stew and the elder Ross, and believe both will be important rotational players for UConn. Many predicted they would portal out, and they both easily could have. They are UConn soldiers! And I feel like both are going to be rewarded for it.
