2019 Recruiting Roundup--Offer List and Breakdown

It’s open evaluation season, baby. This weekend is the only opportunity this month for coaches to evaluate prospects at certified events. With that in mind, below is the latest roundup of UConn’s 2019 offers.

SG- Nah’Shon Hyland, 6'3 165 Wilmington, DE

You won’t find Hyland on many recruiting rankings, having sat out last year’s circuit with the foot injury. The under-the-radar prospect has slowly seen his offers grow from A-10 to the Power 5 conferences in recent weeks.

PF- Kareem Reid, 6'8" 210 Putnam, CT

After reclassifying to 2019, Reid seemed destined for a commitment during the season, but the dam never broke. The staff continues to check in on him, though.

The golden goose that has teased Husky fans for what seems like an eternity. UNC and now Memphis have made renewed pushes lately. No official visit has been set for UConn, either.

Transfer Targets

G- RJ Cole, 6’1” 185 Howard

Would be a sit one, play two transfer. Official visit to Storrs is set for 5/9.

A dynamic guard that racked up the accolades at Howard. UConn will have to fend off two SEC schools to bag this one.

Transfer from UNLV when coach Marvin Menzies was fired. Would be a sit one, play three option. However, as stated above, put his name in the NBA draft. Appears mostly to be for feedback purposes, and didn’t hire an agent. Took OVs to both UConn and Nebraska

F- Andre Allen, 6’9” Arizona Western College

Committed to Buffalo, but reopened his recruitment after Nate Oats left. An extensive list to start.

C- Rick Issanza, 7'1", 225, Scottsdale, AZ.

Seems like a raw project, but anyone Texas Tech is in on seems worthy of a flier. FWIW, is the highest ranked C left, according to Rivals.

C, John Ojiako, 6'10", 190, Allen, KY.

Obviously a big list, and not sure if an offer has been officially extended yet. But a name to keep an eye on, nonetheless.

Received an offer from Hurley and co. a day after decommitting from Wake Forest. Was a big target of the old staff, and has been on campus numerous times.
