UConn 1.5 Favorite Tonight vs. FAU at the Rent

One other thing watching the game on TV last night- (Blades I assume you were at the game) is that the CBSSN camera guy, when UConn was on offense, was CONSTANTLY faked out on misdirection plays and following the fake and not the ball carrier. It was comical and I think it may have even happened on one of the Evers TD runs (first one posted by Blades above). And I was saying to myself, "the camera guy looks as faked out as FAU's defense."

UConn 1.5 Favorite Tonight vs. FAU at the Rent

Crazy thing about the score is FAU was only a 1 point underdog and they only allowed 16 points @ Michigan St.
So bettors beware of the Huskies !
I listened to Zanetto's podcast on Friday and he had some FAU kid on who made it sound like FAU's defense was impenetrable. Well the infamous "Maginot Line" that France set up to defend against a German attack before World War II was also thought to be impenetrable. UConn went through FAU's vaunted front 7 like they were Swiss Cheese. 421 rushing yards speaks for itself, and most of that damage was done by UConn secondary RBs (supposedly) although Durell Robinson sure looks like a main man RB to me. I note he had 140 rushing yards and a 7.5 yards per carry average in the first two games sharing the ball with others. That and last night looks like main man player to me, but they don't even need him to be a 20 carry per game back. And that's what is great, they have a very deep stable of RBs who can all play.

That's what they were saying last on CBSSN during the game- NIL will triple next year. So I hope some potential UConn players or their families heard that.

I liked what I saw- the OL played well too and was opening huge holes for Durell and Mel, and they ran hard. When Rosa comes back next week, with Edwards resting a bit, UConn has 4 really good RBs and a QB who can also run.

**Latest news on UConn / Big 12 rumors....**

To add to another whole failed round of nonsense regarding the Big 12. I agree with this tweet and that some wannabe like Zanetto should never be talking about a CR move for Uconn unless it's after a done deal announced by the AD.
I listened to the Zanetto podcast "breaking" this "news" the day it came out. He was reporting that his source said it was "all but a done deal", or words to that effect. I remember listening to it and thinking this does not sound like a done deal so much as he wishes it to be so. Since then, however, even though Zanetto proved to be wrong and was only right about there being talks, several major mainstream medias have been running with his predictions, the latest one being on who UConn will land in recruiting. I am wondering if this aspect of his podcast (predictions) is doing more harm than good. I know he thinks it is all in fun, but especially on the business side of things, this is serious stuff and money and NIL are at stake. I don't know if the report on Lewis/Adams is right, but what if it causes Thomas/Mullins to commit elsewhere, and UConn turned out to not be the first choice of Lewis or Adams? And what if Thomas and Mullins are better players and better fits for UConn than Zanetto thinks? I think he needs to tone it down a little bit with the predictions. Maybe it is a calculated gambit to get hits and citations to his podcast, maybe it's all in fun like he says, but I do not see it as being helpful. Not trying to chill his 1st amendment rights but he can talk about these recruitments without issuing dramatic, headline grabbing predictions and proclamations that have the fake aura of being authoritative.

Zanetto Prediction That UConn Lands Lewis, Adams Getting Media Traction

While I am a Zanetto podcast listener and admire his enthusiasm about UConn basketball, I consider him more "Fan Boy" (like me, or Blades, or anyone else) and less a true "insider" who has a pulse on UConn recruiting or personnel evaluation. FWIW, however, just like the media ran with his UConn to the BIg 12 "scoop" (which proved to be premature, and wrong) now they are running with his recruiting predictions. I don't believe Zanetto himself thinks he has any great pulse on UConn's recruiting and if you listen to his podcasts, he has said so. I think for him it's fun to make these predictions, but the media is running with them, right or wrong:

UConn vs URI Charity Game October 14!

Not a gambler whatsoever, but like you, we'll probably figure out some pre-game stuff to blow money on. LOL !
I am not a gambler either although I do like to look at and analyze betting lines. But as far as figuring out ways to blow money, I will not even have to try. As soon as I walk through the door at Tao, it's assured that it will happen. FWIW here is their menu. I will say their Triple Pork Fried Rice, featuring 3 different porks, is pretty good:

UConn vs URI Charity Game October 14!

I got tickets very top of section 108, $68.05 each with all in pricing. I am in the next to the last row from the very top. Looking at the seating chart on Ticketmaster, a ton of tickets were sold yesterday. This game is going to sell out. Going with a buddy we are gonna grab dinner at Tao before the game. I have been there before, food is good but your wallet will be assaulted 1st degree. That's what you sign up for.
