Uconn vs Cincy (-11) @ the newly refurbished Fifth Third Arena...8pm (TV: ESPN2)
Once again a big size disadvantage at 4 out of 5 spots, Uconn needs to: take care of the rock, have good ball movement and hit on a high %. Not much they can do if Cincy plays a power game and pounds them inside.

I am not too confident of UConn’s chances in this game, either to win or keep the game competitive. Cincy is too physical, too good at rebounding the ball, and has too much Mick Cronin. It occurred to me that this is one of the few matchups Hurley loses on sideline intensity. Cronin will out-intensity DH and pretty much everyone. He needs to recruit a little bit better but he has all the other attributes one likes to see in a coach.

Cincy seems to be having all kinds of problems running halfcourt offense once UConn started denying easy entry passes. This looks like a game right now.

Why would Cincy have to be good on O....refs were there ready to hand em' the game on a silver platter. Cronin seemed pretty mild tonight, he probably knew he was all good after the way he licked the Zebra's balls B4 the game. That's the only story of this game besides Uconn working their ass off to try and overcome those MF'ers play after play....can't beat the stripes..38 to 16...GTFO.... Box Score

Also, it's a shame that CV thought he could be the hero off the dribble when that's not his game....wanted to do it all himself when Rique was wide open....but keep your head up CV and know when to trust your team mates.....other than that painful judgement ...the kid played his heart out

I’m past moral victories. I went to bed down 7 and dvr’ed the rest. I woke up expecting a 15 point loss and assumed that when we went down 11.

The fact that they made two FG,s in the
Last 12 minutes and got to overtime is criminal. Fouls were 9-2 at one point as we were fighting our way back into the game. We lived and died at the 3pt line and that’s not sustainable, but when the late 80s Detroit Pistons Only have 4 fouls at the end of the game and they’ve been shooting in the bonus for the better part of the second half, you know there was some home cooking. It was two different games. They actually got a flagrant foul on Vitale on a borderline offensive charge as their bulldozer 2g initiated the contact. And they never even reviewed a questionable deflection right in front of Hurley late in overtime as Vitale hustled trying to save it.

If Tarin Smith can make a layup in the last minute UConn would have won the game in regulation. UConn had many chances to win this game and honestly should have won the game. Cincy was really bad on offense the last part of this game and the game was slipping away from them. They couldn’t make shots and they also were not outrebounding UConn and didn’t win the boards. What happened with Vital at the end was unfortunate. The stats say UConn should have won the game.

That call was so over the top the TV guys even called them out...There were so many questionable calls that went Cincy's way ( and non calls on Cincy everytime Uconn got mugged going to the rim) it's to many to discuss. But the other one on that bulldozer that made me lose my mind was right b4 Jalen fouled out. Cumberland was pushing off all night but he almost sent Alterique into the stands with no call, then JA picks up his 5th on the same play. The only thing I'll give the refs was in OT they finally decided to call it both ways, but it took until OT for Uconn to get into the bonus.

Blades, but the only reason we got into the bonus in OT was because they gave two fouls right before Gilbert’s tying layup at the buzzer. Btw, if 34 made that layup and got tangled with one of our Bigs, pretty good chance he would have gotten the Andone call.

If we played this game calling our own fouls; we win by double digits. We better get the whistle when we play them at home, but spoiler alert....we won’t.
