Very disappointing to see any team shoot 50% FGs against UConn. I will say UML runs some really good halfcourt O!!!! But that being said when you see a 6'2" guard post up Hamilton and go up and under on him you kind of understand how the 50% shooting happened.

UConn did shoot 64% FGs but they really have to do better job at halfcourt defense.

On the positive side, the fact that Omar Calhoun scored 14 off the bench for the second straight game, with limited shots, is very encouraging. Purvis also had a really good game but as a team UConn had 16 TOs which is way too many against a team like UML.

Pathetic win vs. a terrible team with a 280+ RPI...and your right KSTW a lot of these guys sloppy ball handling really showed out in this game. Plus everyone in the building
knew UML just wanted to jack up 3's ( 30 of them) so how could these Uconn guys continue to sluff off their match-ups down into the lane leaving em' wide open......
over and over and over....SMFH !!! .....on the postive it's nice to have Omar's shooting back 2 games in a row and Purvis is really a good player when he dribbles less...

I noticed that UML moved the ball around perimeter very crisply and when that happens the defensive rotations need to be sharp, and they weren't. It was two halves of bad defense by UConn. It's a good thing UConn shot 64%, because they needed to shoot that to win this game, between the poor defense and the TOs.

Regarding Purvis, that was a very easy 28 points he had - all in the flow of the offense. Right now the basket is sucking up his shots. They need to have him shooting more and driving less, although some minimal driving is necessary to keep the defense honest. If he is wide open to the hole he should by all means explode and drive to the basket. He has gotten better at avoiding charges although it would be nice if he had more than one speed.
