It was a great night in Storrs as the team handed out their awards for the season. The event was emceed by NBC's Kevin Nathan, and members of the coaching staff took turns presenting the various awards to the players.

Joseph M. Giannelli Award for Newcomer of the Year - Sophomore QB Bryant Shirreffs
Most Improved Player of the Year - Sophomore LB Junior Joseph
Kendall Madison Award for Outstanding Power Player - Sophomore DL Foley Fatukasi
Brian Kozlowski Award for Outstanding Big Skill Player - Sophomore LB Luke Carrezola
Jasper T. Howard for Outstanding Skill Player - Sophomore CB Jamar Summers
Bleed Blue Award - for embodying the spirit of what it means to be a Husky - Senior LB Graham Stewart
John L. Toner Scholar Athlete - Junior P Justin Wain
Look (Scout) Team Player of the Year - Sophomore TE Billy Williams (transfer from Northern Iowa)
Special Teams Player of the Year - Junior K Bobby Puyol
Offensive Player of the Year - Sophomore RB Arkeel Newsome & Junior WR Noel Thomas
Defensive Player of the Year - Senior S Andrew Adams
Highlight videos of the first and second half of the season provided a break in the action. Nathan stepped in in between videos and presentations to introduce each of the coaches or staff members. Bob Diaco then addressed the crowd briefly before presenting a nice video tribute to the seniors featuring commentary from their parents.
UConn hosted about 8-9 prospects at the event tonight who are on official visits for the weekend, including some of the names which have been mentioned in articles this week.
Congratulations to all the Huskies' players, staff and families for an incredible regular season. It was great to see everybody so excited for the bowl game and the future of this program.
