Rodney Purvis Knows Huskies Have A Job To Finish ...

"We've got to get to the basket like we've been doing," Purvis said, as he and his teammates returned to their hotel Saturday, following practice at Central Florida, "and just finish the damn layup." It will be a tall, and a wide order. The Knights have the tallest player in the AAC, in 7-foot-6 Tako Fall, and the widest, in 6-10, 325-pound Justin McBride.

So they better be able to hit from outside too !

Brimah comes back and Hamilton plays like Hamilton. No coincidence.

I also do not think it's a coincidence that UCF is shooting a moose ball-sucking 21.7% for the game with 4 minutes to go. At home. Shooting 21% in front of home fans for almost an entire game is reminiscent of UConn's 18% FG shooting half against Tulsa a few games back.

Welcome back Amida.....some plus stuff today.... as Ozzie posted in the other thread ....when he's got the keys Adams( 5 asst/ O TO'S) with his calmness running the O and breakdown ability when it's needed is a difference maker. True about Hamilton... looked better with AB, still a little to much in a hurry at times flying into traffic when it's not need, as Ollie just said on CBS. Plenty to clean-up, if they weren't as sloppy... they could have won by 40....but it was a nice test drive with a full squad.

Final Stats

Agree Blades. Good run with a full squad. First test of many comes next at Memphis!!

Btw loved how Shonn played tough and did not fade away or back down that much all game on both ends!! Need that presence badly. Facey as well!!

Omar was good off the bench.... need these guys to start gelling and accepting roles and keep that Defensive intensity going and this season can become what it should be!!

Guys not sure if you are aware but UCF held to 23.5% FGs shooting for the game- at home. I believe that is the best defensive FG% by UConn this year and it bests the dreadful Tulsa shutdown in Hartford.

It was also UCF's worst loss this season by a lot. They had not previously lost to any opponent by more than 20. Also the 41 points by UCF the fewest scored in any game. The UCF fans are not happy right now. I met them at 2011 Battle of Atlantis; they have some hardcore diehard fans.

I was listening to the Joe D show today and he said that the 41 points scored by UCF was the second fewest point allowed in a road game by a UConn team since 1950. This was an epic defensive performance. And it came against a team that is not terrible. They had the same 4-3 AAC record as UConn going into the game.

Joe D attributed the performance to the effective return of Brimah, and Brimah's impact on his teammates in terms of Brimah's exuberant attitude.
