Could this conference have worked or even made a difference in terms of retaining an automatic berth in the BCS,
keeping better bowl alignments or the creation of a Big 6th ? Long term? How valuable would this conference have
been to the TV networks? Especially if left in tact as a 12 to 14 team football and 10 team hoops conference.

I thought it might be interesting to take a look at what was scheduled to be the 2013 BE FB conference. Bringing
back the schools who bolted during the E$PN lead corporate dismantling. Also considering the other inevitable which
was splitting off from the Catholics. They always did as much damage as anyone to BE FB because they would never
allow continued expansion to what now seems to be a normal number of 12-14 schools. Which is all pretty ironic stuff
since the Priest's only voted well enough in 2010 to destroy the BE but never well enough to keep it together. Remember
the Catholics telling the FB schools they have to wait on more expansion until Nova decides if they want to be FBS or not.
If you knew then what you know now..........LOL !

This also removes TCU and WVU because they were already gone by 2012. Navy is also slated as FB only in
2015 in this scenario. Would a FB only like Air Force been a perfect match to top it out at 14 ?

Here's a look at the 2013 Big East FB conference minus the carnage:

WEST (BOLD- early outs or never got here FB only)
...............................CF......All
Louisville (8).............0-0 2-0
UCF.........................0-0 2-0
Houston...................1-0 2-0
Boise State(FB).......0-0 1-1
SMU.................... . 0-0 1-1
San Diego St.(FB)...0-0 0-2
Memphis............... .0-0 0-1

EAST
Cincinnati............. ...0-0 1-1
Rutgers................... 0-0 1-1
Pittsburgh...............0-1 0-1
Connecticut..............0-0 0-1
Syracuse.................0-0 0-2
South Florida............0-0 0-2
Temple.....................0-1 0-2

With Boise getting shellacked in week 1, even with all the shuffling, Louisville is the only 2013 team that is currently ranked in the polls. But it'll be interesting to see the way the season plays out.

replace houston, smu, and memphis with texas, oklahoma, oklahoma state... and in the east, replace temple with psu... and usf with miami or fsu... THAT would be a conference that would give the $EC a run for its money
