Actually within walking distance right down the road on Silver Lane....SMH !......this is what happens
when you give one group ( the so called Indians) a monopoly on organized crime.........they want
to own it all,
Gambling, Entertainment, the works ! On or off the reservation !

From the tribes: " they are encouraged by the increasing number of towns that are expressing interest
in developing an alternative gaming facility." My question is why do the tribes get to own another one,
put it out to bid ! Frickin' Weicker made them billionaires, that's not enough for those greedy @#cks !

I guess it may take awhile for the Indians to increase their monopoly on "organized crime"...off the reservation...whether it's on Silver Lane or elsewhere.......
This is exactly what I was referring to about them deserving exclusive rights to all casino gambling in CT:

MGM Sues State, Challenging Law Giving Tribes Exclusive Rights To A New Casino

The lawsuit...." claims the Connecticut law discriminates on the base of race or ethnicity against a spectrum of potential casino developers by limiting development rights to two federally recognized Indian tribes."

"This special law prevents everyone else from competing or even from making an alternative proposal that could be of greater benefit to the state," MGM Resorts International President Bill Hornbuckle said in a statement. "We believe that everyone should be given an equal opportunity to compete."

Exactly !!!!

MGM is just mad that a Casino in that location and being finished before their casino will hurt their investment Its an arms race.

Either Connecticut builds a Casino in that area of CT or they lose that millions of dollars of tax revenue to those gamers going to Springfield to play at the MGM. MGM said they would be suing CT after a couple months ago when the state said they would be expanding gaming and wanted to get one open in that area of the state before MGM opens in Springfield.

The tribes already have a gaming committee in place. I would rather they run and operate gaming in the state rather than the state having to commit more money and resources to establishing another department of government to oversea casino operations in the state.

Like I trust anything the tribes oversee.... but spoken like a true patron or an Indian reservation employee.....Guess you've never been in the entertainment business or lost millions to these fricken Indians like Hartford county has or anyone who's been in spin off businesses that have to compete with them on an unbalanced playing field......Because Weicker decided to close off the free market to guys like Steve Wynn when he was trying to build in Hartford years ago...It's not just gambling they control... it's the whole ball of entertainment wax and these pricks can never get rich enough... while they destroy other CT businesses and milk it's residents dry. Of course MGM is pushing this because they have a selfish interest but it's more about opening up the free market... and CT should take bids from all commercial developers ....Because if we've already decided gambling isn't morally wrong, then don't give one group a monopoly or ban it for good.

Not like that's gonna ever happen.. since these CT politicians sold their soul to the Chiefs and that South African Solomon Kerzner ....who also enjoyed the monopoly... as this foreigner came in to clean out CT's pockets years ago.

But it's not like the CT AG didn't see this coming...."If enacted, the proposed legislation may face third-party court challenges, the outcomes of which are difficult to forecast," said Jepsen.."For example, a third party could claim that granting the exclusive right to conduct gaming to the Tribes, particularly where that gaming would be conducted off reservation land, violates the Equal Protection Clause of the U.S. Constitution."
