Interesting read on the OL from Norwalk writer and some quotes :
John Nash Column: UConn needs to lay it all on the - LINE - this season
{ This summer, the UConn linemen are sounding vaguely familiar...... They are saying the same things as their predecessors -- that this year will be different, that communication is better than ever, that the camaraderie has been great. " "They're way better," said Diaco. "At this point, as it relates to a year ago, just watching them practice, you have so many less negative plays, so many less people in the backfield, less ball security errors -- a lot of which last year were relayed to absolute busts up front." .......Of course, we've heard it before.}

But it surely isn't sounding like this red shirt senior did 2 years ago after the confusion Pasqualoni and DeLeone put his OL through before they were finally fired : "The Huskies were averaging a nation-low 45.8 yards rushing and had allowed 20 sacks. " (The new coach) comes in and he goes, 'We're going to make this simpler,'" senior left tackle Jimmy Bennett said. 'We're going to make it so you're not going up to the line confused. ... You're going be able to be physical and be aggressive and understand the game plan a lot more. You're going to be able to hit them in the mouth.' He came in like, 'We've been playing a little soft and I'm going to try to get you guys to be more physical and we're going to hit the sled every day this week."...."We hit the sled every day. When DeLeone took over, we did not touch the sled. It was just his coaching style, nothing against him. He's a good coach, knew what he was doing. I guess guys have a little more of an inkling for being physical and not being such a brainiac. ... Come off the ball and hit somebody in the mouth."

But as the article says:
Will 2015 be any different, or are they just more words? Or will Diaco's one word -- faith -- prove to be true this time around. Stay tuned, Husky fans. We'll start finding out on Thursday when Villanova comes to town.

Today's U- UConn Can't Afford to Be Shipwrecked With 0-2 Start

" It is no exaggeration to say these might be the two most important games in the history of the UConn athletic program. Against Villanova and Army? ......Yes, against Villanova and Army. Win those games and the Huskies might experience a football renaissance. They might feel good about themselves for the first time in a long time. They might see that they can be competitive in the AAC. They wouldn’t feel the pressure of needing to save the season at Missouri."

* Hartford Courant- UConn Coach Diaco On Villanova: Respect, Yes; Worry, No

Edit:
I guess Des Conner took down or replaced his article above that started with Respect, Yes; Worry, No
" UConn coach Bob Diaco said on the American Athletic Conference football coaches conference call Monday that worrying about its first opponent, FCS member Villanova, will not be one the things his team will experience this week. " and went on about excitement and his respect for the opponent.
