Barnes is the latest of multiple coaches who have already been fired this year AFTER signing lucrative contract extensions. It's all about what you have done for me lately. Barnes' 1st 14 years at Texas do not really exist, but the last year does exist.

It's now been revealed that Rick Barnes was told to fire staff or be fired himself, and chose the latter. I give him alot of credit for loyalty. Texas AD Patterson is a pussy, you want staff fired, fire them yourself. Totally a chickenshit move.
