When a Big East team makes 13-24 3s on your court, you generally should not expect to win, but UConn managed to withstand the perimeter onslaught and hold on for the W. We have seen a few too many perimeter onslaughts this year already, but I thought Xavier made some contested shots and some tough fadeaways The best thing you can say about this game is that down the stretch in regulation and in OT, UConn played well when it needed to, despite some guys playing heavy minutes. All they need is Al's reminder:

Yep, the X was on fire. One big factor for Uconn was missing only 1 FT all night, with Tarris Reed Jr., Solo and McNeely a combined 18-18. .........P.S. Got a nice little lift and a few points from Singare with Samson out, never thought that might happen. ;)

Singare actually looked like a competent backup center in his minutes. His scores didn't look lucky, they looked like the product of energy on his part.

The FT shooting has been stellar. The fighting through screens on D is another story but I will take the win over an Xavier team that shot lights out.

20 for 21- it doesn't get better than this. UConn is now shooting 78.7% from FT line as a team, a ridiculously good %. It ranks UConn #20 in the NCAA in this category. The team leads NCAA basketball with 7.1 blocks per game, which is actually a bit low for an NCAA bpg leader. Leader is usually closer to 10
