Aman the former publisher of Uconn Rivals breaks down and echos my CR thoughts from a few years ago and the last piece needed
( a bowl tie in ) after leaving the conference that continues to implode.
( the AAC, which soon should really be called C-USA 2.0 ).
It also proves that for Uconn the only sane move in the current state of CR
was to collect their final shares of $100+ mil in exit fees (split with Cincy and USF) from the old Big East departures .....and then
go Indy in FB like Army, Notre Dame, BYU (until more CR) , etc. . And back with the old rivals for all other sports in the new Big East.
Though
it looks like Uconn FB (and Jim Mora
) despite
getting a national TV contract (CBS Sports) and
a much better FB schedule as an Indy, than anything that could've happened in the AAC ( who ever will be in it next year ?), the MAC, C-USA, etc.......
might have caught AD Benedict off guard in becoming bowl eligible so soon. Since even an Indy like :
But here is a bowl situation break down and recap from Aman-
" UConn got a pretty solid schedule together and the TV and
buy-game money, (
around $2 mil each from the yearly games like Clemson, Mich, Tenn and Ohio St, etc) .....the athletic department earned a similar annual bounty as it did in the American, maybe even more, certainly with higher upside.."
According to people with better knowledge than us, the chances are high, though not 100%, that the Huskies will be playing in the postseason for the first time since 2015.
