Big East coaches have the Boukshow as a BE 2nd teamer...Goodman has him as a 2nd team All-American:

Honestly I have not seen many guys on these lists play so I cannot compare Bouknight to them. What makes Bouknight somewhat unusual to me is that he combines athleticism with an unusual feel for the game. I see him make plays based on athleticism (like the incredible alley oop dunk against ECU which was UConn dunk of the year) and I also see him make very unusual scoring plays that you only see from very very savvy guys with a 6th sense. It's unusual to see both of those attributes rolled into one player. At times last year he was scoring the ball with remarkable ease and doing it at all 3 levels. There appeared to be high level savvy to his game. I haven't seen anyone as good offensively since Kemba wore a UConn uniform. As far as 3 level scoring and versatility as a scorer, he might be the best since Rip, who was a little taller but maybe not as good a 3 baller although we need to see how Bouknight develops in that regard. Rip was an effective 3 baller in college but not so much in the NBA. He didn't have deep range.

True on Bouk, he really doesn't take forced shots or over penetrate into bad spots vs. defenses, just the opposite of what Gilbert did or what CV did until he finally figured things out the last few months of his career. In that respect JB has alot early Ray Ray in him. Takes what the offense gives him, works to get at high % spots on the court and plays like the total team player who could score even more if he had to.

Here's a NBA Draft Analyst/ Former NBA agent who gives him high praise and shows a highlight tape.

Kind of tongue in cheek from Willard but...

"Now, it should be known that Big East coaches had no vote in the decision to bring UConn back to the league. That was entirely done by the league’s presidents, and that vote was said to be unanimous. So, we may have been witnessing a bit of that ol’ Willard sarcasm again.. "

"Indeed, Willard has already been hurt by UConn’s presence. Adama Sanogo, the Huskies’ talented, 6-foot-10 freshman center, had told his high school coach back in April that he intended to commit to Seton Hall. A couple of weeks later, he committed to the Huskies. "

Good video for media day from Fox Sports on Uconn's return...

Snow has gone and picked Sanogo as ROY even though Marquette has a freshman big man who is a McDonald's All American. As always the preseason picks don't really mean anything. Let's play the games and see what happens.

True......even though Snow says..." When looking at Newcomer of the Year, it is tricky. Dawson Garcia will get most of the buzz, but Adama Sanogo is turning heads in Storrs. Given that Sanogo might be more physically prepared than Garcia, I am going with him to pull the upset and win the award. "

It will be especially tough for Sanogo to put up decent #'s with the loaded frontcourt Uconn has. While Garcia will have a clear path to major PT for Marquette with only 3 bigs (over 6-7) on their roster.
