I am a little surprised Louisville is unranked. I know they have taken a beating in the media with the escort scandal but they are a top 25 team in my mind.
I also have lots of questions on most of the teams in the top 10. This is a season where there could be a lot of surprises with the huge exodus of talent from Duke and UK. UNC is ranked #1 mainly because they hung onto most of their talent, but I haven't been all that impressed with their talent and they have not played good defense in the NCAA tournament the past few years. Their defense against Iowa State 2 years ago was worse than terrible. How do you blow an 8 point lead in less than two minutes?
Maryland has a lot of potential and a lot of good players but we have to see how it all fits and how they play with these huge expectations.
To me a sleeper team that could be dangerous is Gonzaga, which UConn might play in the Battle of Atlantis. They have without a doubt the best frontcourt in the nation. How good their new starting guards play will dictate how good they will be. Last year I thought their two senior starting guards were very overrated, and Duke proved this in the Elite 8. In my mind them having two new starters at guard is addition by subtraction because the two guards they had last year were not that great.
