I guess Patrick Ewing needs a new PG, his Uconn flip didn't last long....

I watched Georgetown against Duke and something was off with their team. They had a huge lead on Duke and it looked like they would blow Duke out and then the game kind of flipped and Duke won easily. Georgetown seemed like they had more offensive talent. That game wasn’t a good look. I can’t find any info on whether Akinjo and LeBlanc got booted off the team or quit, the Washington media doesn’t seem to have any inside info. LeBlanc has lost some PT and Ewing was critical of his play in the media. These guys were both freshman All Big East and Akinjo was Big East Rookie of the Year last year.

It seems like LeBlanc was accused of burglary and assault along with another player (Alexander), and yet another player (Gardner) is accused of sexual assault. So it seems like 2 more players have their status now in doubt, and the Hoyas could be real shorthanded the rest of the year. I kind of feel sorry for Patrick Ewing but it seems like 3 of the 4 are guys he recruited to the team, so this is what he signed up for:

maybe he's not digging the current culture at G-town

Why would Ewing insult Akinjo's dead mother? He sounds like maybe he is not all he cracked up to be. He is dealing with kids now, not NBA pros.

I can think of another NBA player who had problems with college kids and was leaking players( Enoch, Jackson, Durham, too early to the draft, etc.) like a sieve because he wasn't all he was cracked up to be when he had to think for himself ! ;)

Could Akinjo be in play for 2021-22? You figure Cole will be the point guard next year and then in 2021-2022 UConn will need another PG. Or would he view Gaffney as blocking him?

I'd think back to the west coast since he's a Cali kid.....

Guess who just decided " to get outta Dodge " ...Patrick down to 7 scholly players.

Those transfers are the fault of the Georgetown AD, not Ewing. The school has issued a series of perplexing and confusing statements. One didn’t acknowledge that Akinjo was not named in any of the criminal complaints, and the other basically implied these guys were guilty of something, as opposed to being innocent until proven guilty. Alexander, in his statement, basically said that the university didn’t have his back, and in the past few weeks the Washington Post has published several stories which were extremely critical of the statements GU issued on this matter, particularly the first one which failed to note that Akinjo had nothing to do with any criminal complaints. Apparently Gardner has issued statements similar to Alexander on his social media. GU’s poor communication on these issues and the turmoil it has caused the program are likely to get a bunch of people fired. Before any of this happened I thought they had an extremely dangerous team, especially with Akinjo and McClung in their backcourt. Now with 7 guys they are in trouble, as any injury, further suspensions or foul trouble could ruin their season.
