2019 Recruits

Well he is a lot closer to CT than he is to UK. Plus it’s just one visit. He has lots of high D1 schools on him. Are we going to just give up once UK or any power 5 school is involved now?

Brimah was an ongoing, incomplete project who was never beefed up, and never learned how to play proper positional defense so he would not be in constant foul trouble. His offense was basically he could catch and dunk lob passes. Good teams shut that down. This kid looks physically similar.

From Zags, Started all games as FR.....I'd assume he'd have to sit out a transfer year..... though UNLV's HC got fired ?...Chose UNLV over UCLA, Wichita State and Tennessee ..Played for the Nike New York Rens U17 club.

Joel Ntambwe (College Stats) ...... 6-9/210lb...SO...(originally from the) Congo

Looks like Ntambwe can shoot the 3, boards respectably but he is a Johnnie Selvie type black hole on assists. 0.4 apg at UNLV. Any of you guys remember Selvie? You dumped it down low to him and it wasn’t coming back out: was gonna be a TO, score or missed shot (although dude could O-board his misses). No kick out policy by Johnnie.

Johnny Selvie ??? You don't need to look that far....How about Polley who ave. 0.4 asst in 2 years and Wilson who's a 0.3 asst guy this year?...One thing this kid seems to do is rebound (5.5 rebs pg in 24 mins.)... more than triple Polley's avg. (1.7 )

Also Hurley offered b4: ZAGS- Rhode Island, UNLV The Latest To Offer Ntambwe

I wasn’t aware Polley’s and Wilson’s assists numbers were that bad. We can’t have too many guys who don’t share the rock. Forwards are not somehow exempted from ball movement responsibilities.

Doesn't necessarily mean they don't share the ball, depends on the role they're playing and you'd have to watch them. Shonn Miller ave. 0.6 asst. but I wouldn't call him a ball hog. Or Deandre Daniels at 0.5 for his career.... or Giffey at 0.6.....or Roscoe Smith at 0.4....etc...has alot more to do with what the guards are doing and their roles... you can't tell much by assist numbers unless they are guards who handle the ball 75% of the time in an offense. Probably even more if it's a 3 guard line-up.

Wilson is a gunner. Which is fine, if he shoots close to 50% and doesn’t turn it over.

Shooting better isn't the major area of improvement needed from Wilson. Both Wilson and Polley averaged less rebounds per game than Vital, Adams, Smith and Gilbert. Yep, the top 4 guards all outrebounded both Wilson and Polley. Wilson and Polley's rebounds put together were less than Vital's.

Joel could be a VERY nice pick up, his brother is the #2 kid in the 20/21 class.....that doesnt hurt and we are on him already.

Wilson's highlights and dunks in his video's were great but that's the worse thing about this video stuff, that they show nothing regarding BB IQ. And he's got so much to work on. Hopefully DH and co. can teach this kid how to be an actual basketball player by his JR year.....in the meantime eat something Sid, 6-7/177 lbs .... they breathe on you and knock you away.

PS. wasn't referring to Wilson, just players in general when looking at assist numbers. But as you mention, Sid never met a shot he didn't like. I cringe when he gets the ball because he thinks just because he can throw it up, he should. Polley on the other hand brings nothing if he's not hitting his 3pt'er. So Uconn needs a starting upgrade over both those guys next year, preferably a 4 who can also defend and rebound as KSTW mentions above.
