UConn just beat the #7 team in the nation by 44 on its home court.

The Buckeyes fans have to be saying themselves, "sheeeeeeeet, we just almost beat the #2 team in the country on their own Court, and the best we can do is a 44 point loss to UConn at home, worst in school history? We are the Big 10, we are the P5, they are the American Athletic Conference, this is the best our money can buy us"?

Problem with that analysis is money doesn't buy pride, guts and determination, and the UConn girls hustled this game from a 25 point win to a 44 win and that is a FACT. OSU beaten down and totally outhustled.

Every new top 10 team that shows up on the schedule .... it just ain't fair vs. Geno and the girls...they say take your beating, rinse and repeat

I hate to question Geno, but I often wonder why he leaves his starters in for so long. They were on the court with four minutes left in a 35 point game. It would be horrible if one of them got injured in that situation.

Geno doesn't have a full bench. Butler is out with hand surgery, Boykin is out with injury and Samuelson was ill and had to have her minutes limited. He did play the walk ons the last 2 plus minutes and Lawlor actually scored the final bucket.

Agreed KSTW...although i believe Lawlor & Pulido have scholly's now. Not sure if anyone knows this but Lawlor's dad John, played for the huskies fball team when they were IAA. All state lineman from Ansonia.

Anyway....i think their bench, at least last year as well, was very thin. HCGA doesn't always use up his scholly allotment just for the sake of doing it, so i've noticed a few years that they were very thin on the bench, so there may be subs who plays major minutes and are still playing at the end. My wife watches the woman's game to the end....while i typically don't see more than the 1st 10 minutes so i'm probably not the best judge though....

Yes that is correct. Lawlor and Pulido are both walk-ons but Geno awarded them schollies and in both cases they are deserved. Lawlor is a very good 3 point shooter and I am inclined to believe she would be a rotation player at some of the AAC schools that UConn will be beating by 50-60 points this year. Pulido is less skilled than Lawlor but a better athlete and in fact had a scholly for the track team when she tried out. I have noticed Pulido has improved her game a lot.

You are right about UConn having a thin bench. It actually figured to be deeper than last year but with the injuries to Butler and Boykin and Samuelson not being able to play a lot of minutes due to being sick the bench was shortened yesterday. After those girls come back it shouldn't be an issue but right now UConn is playing smaller than they probably want to although it looked good yesterday!!!
