Solid first half by UConn which is up 18. I thought Adams played great. He was really aggressive especially in the transition game. He pushes the ball and likes to finish with a scoop shot off the glass. Ollie again played unit substitutions although interestingly he played Enoch with the first team and Brimah with the second team in the latter part of the half. Hamilton and Purvis were both very active. With Purvis and those mad charges to the hole you always hope he beats the defender and doesn't take the charge and in this half Rodney was quicker to the hole.

I thought Facey played solidly for the second team but it's quite obvious that Adams is the star of that second unit.

Kind of a quite half for Miller I would like to see him looked for more.

Overall defense was solid.

Very good game by UConn today. Good defense, a ton of blocked shots and contributions by a lot of guys added up to a 40 point hosing of New Haven. And the Christian Foxon dunk at the end of the game sealed another free order of chicken wings at BWW AS UConn goes over 82 points again!

I saw some good minutes from Steve Enoch today. The way he played today looks like he has Nolan beat for the backup 5. And I also thought Facey played really well with rebounds and blocks but he is still offensively challenged. And it was nice to see Sammy Cassell score and contribute. That second unit is a real second unit. This is a legit 10 deep team. 11 if you count Nolan.

Just got back from the game.....also....Nolan looked like he got hurt, went to the locker room...I don't know if he came back...Enoch looked nice in his minutes...was game on TV ?

Great job by KO with the substitutions and minutes distribution. Look at the box score - never saw that many guys contribute to a UConn win in many years.

I didn't see what happened to Phil Nolan but I noticed he wasn't in the game at a certain point. Steve Enoch certainly made the most of his minutes today.

What you see a few times in those highlights is very good passes by Purvis......something we didn't see much of last year. Some of those highlights looked better on tape than they did at the game yesterday.

Yeah I would agree with that.... though he is still a mixed bag of force plays at times. The no hand-check rule and the bigger (3 feet to 4 feet) Restricted-area under the hoop may help him since he like those head down drives so much. And I'm sure you saw his WTF fast break pass that he threw about 10 feet over his team mates head into the stands on a simple 2-1 which was a lay up from about 10 feet in, if he connected.

Yeah he did airmail that pass. On another note UConn shot 2-13 on 3s and 11-33 in the 2 exhibitions. I am inclined to give them a pass because they were getting easy inside baskets against UNH but against better teams that kind of 3 point shooting will not cut it. Also didn't see much from Sterling Gibbs except that one alley oop pass to Miller and hopefully when they play better teams and need baskets as the shot clock winds down in the half court offense, he will make some 3s.

Which brings us to Omar Calhoun....maybe it was false hope after a decent game one....because a career 29 % in conference shooter's gotta limit how many he can keep jacking up at some point.....he was a big part of the 2-13 sinced he clanged up the most with an 0-4 game.

UConn needs two reliable three point guys. Gibbs will probably be one and one of Purvis or Hamilton needs to be the other. I give Cassell a chance to be a decent contributor on 3s off the bench.
