It's obvious from these rankings that experienced transfers are being valued more highly than great freshman classes, as is the case with Duke and their relatively low ranking. Although Duke isn't in the top 10 in most of the WTE preseason polls, Lunardi inexplicably has given them the #1 seed in the East Regional over #2 UConn.

For UConn to sustain these preseason rankings and hold their placement in these polls, I thought the key player could be Jaylin Stewart before the Karaban return, and I still believe that. I am assuming he will start and Mullins will be the 6th man. I feel like Stewart has more in him than what we have seen and the key could be getting more minutes for him as a starter in the position formerly occupied by Liam McNeely.

+1, I think Jaylin played his role and deferred a little more in the offense, than he could have. Similar to an early on Tristan Newton. I expect a leap in #'s for a more assertive and capable Stewie. Mullins should be able to get minutes at both the 2 and 3 if his shooting numbers translate.

And Uconn's overall experience is much better for this 2025 Uconn team compared to last year when DH lost 4 of the top 5 scorers to the NBA. With 3 of the top 4 scorers back and a bigger, high major level, starting PG like Silas. Plus a grad transfer PG for the Diarra role of 2 years. ( sometimes the Mahaney's, Timberlake's, etc. don't translate up a level)

So it'll be interesting to see which direction DH goes next, the 4/5 spot, international player, like in the past, etc. ???

Here's a video preview from Uconn grad, author and west coast media guys Torres. Nothing earth shattering that us die hard Uconn fans don't already know, but a Iittle lead in summer hype up just the same.
