" Originally from Somerset, N.J., and a two-sport star at Franklin High School in football and basketball, not only grew up watching UConn sports, he very nearly came to Storrs for college..... Roberts, 31, has been the head strength and conditioning coach for the men's basketball team at Purdue University for the past three years and was previously the assistant director of sports performance at Western Michigan." ......Roberts, a defensive back and special teams player for the Boilermakers..... "Yes, for me, it was between Purdue and UConn as a football player," he said...and the chance to help UConn basketball continue to rebuild its program was part of the attraction of the sports performance position. "The illustrious history, the prestige, the Big East..," he said. "And being able to continue to build on what Coach Hurley has built so far."

.......... he takes over for Michael Rehfeldt who left Uconn and headed back to Cincy after they fired their HC and had a coaching shake-up.
