Uconn Football now has it's own Independent TV deal (like Notre Dame, Army, BYU ) with a national network......CBS Sports..... ( that reaches about 55 million homes)... " Line that up against the ESPN+ reality that UConn faced if they had stayed a member of the AAC "

" UConn on Monday will announce an agreement with CBS Sports, which will carry four homes games in the upcoming 2020 season — if there is one — and every home game through 2023. The four-year deal comes with a pair of two-year network options that could push the agreement to eight years, through the 2027 season. .....The three 2020 games not contracted by CBS Sports are expected to be televised, with SNY-Sports the likely landing spot.... Every FBS game UConn plays in the life of the deal will be on linear TV on a national network. "

One more read from The Uconn Daily ( Zac Boyer former publisher of this site/ and John Silver former Uconn beat writer from the Manchester JI)

OUR TAKE: Who knew UConn football still had this kind of brand recognition? Who knew it had any brand recognition? Let's call it like we see it -- good job Dave Benedict. UConn football has a national television deal. We were very critical of Benedict last summer when football went Independent to the Big East. We thought that Benedict only had a wish and not a plan. It was valid criticism and we called it risky. But you know what? Sometimes risk pays off and this was a calculated risk. Benedict bet on himself and delivered. We will gladly eat crow.......

Also need to give a shout out to Learfield IMG, who Uconn partnered with in 2018 ( UConn inks $96 mil contract with IMG ) to help fund Uconn sports (along w/ Nike's -Uconn mega $32.5 mil deal ) and specifically high visibility / revenue sports: " (IMG) will continue to produce coach’s shows for the school’s football, basketball and men’s ice hockey teams."

"The agreement between CBS Sports and UConn Athletics was facilitated by Learfield IMG College, the university’s athletics multimedia rights holder. UConn Sports Properties is the Learfield IMG College Hartford-based team that exclusively represents the Huskies and works alongside (Uconn AD) Dave Benedict on all aspects of the rights relationship."

11/1/2022...." Coming later this month, fans and followers of UConn Athletics will have a new avenue for absorbing all things Huskies and the University of Connecticut: UConn+. The university's own sports-centric streaming platform will surface original and exclusive content to fans such as features, live events, profiles, coaches' shows, highlights and other on-demand content.
