My guess would be the DT, since there are already a couple of receivers in the class, but who knows. It could very well be someone not in the database...

Good point it looks like the RB's are thinning out with Max gone and none added 2 years in a row ( so far) ....I know Diaco loves him on specials but I also wouldn't mind them giving Bryce another shot on the other side of the ball at RB since they have 3 redshirt-FR DB's ( John Robinson IV, Aaron Garland, and Marshé Terry ) that'll add depth to the defensive secondary next year.

I think Bryce is staying on the other side... he has looked good in practice as well and you can never have too many DBs. At RB right now they're going after Kameron Pickett and Devin Singletary in the class of 2016.

They'll have Newsome, Johnson, Marriner and at least one true freshman next year. They have a couple of walk-ons as well for practice depth.

One other thought regarding RB is where will Marcus Outlow end up ? And would there be any mutual interest between him and Uconn's current staff ? He was a true soph and would have to sit out a year, but would BC even allow him a release to his state school since they're on the schedule now ? Marcus Outlow -Stats

NFA alum Marcus Outlow plans to transfer from BC

From the Courant in 2013:
"Norwich Free Academy tailback Marcus Outlow has given Boston College an oral commitment to play football for the Eagles in 2014, according to Rivals.com. The 6-foot, 190-pound Outlow, who also had offers from Ohio State, Florida, Clemson, Iowa and UConn, was believed to be looking to stay closer to home."

Interesting, I had them 2 on my own personal target list a while back but I had read they both committed elsewhere and deleted them..... ???

My understanding is that both are exploring other options.

Good call Aman, just saw this tweet:

Sounds like Pickett and Devin Singletary according to Aman. Haven't seen any word on a Uconn visit yet, but Pickett had been sitting on that Miami(OH) commit since July. Devin Singletary ( link) on the other hand just committed to Illinois at the end of last month which would seem weird to commit and de-commit that fast. But they list him in that article as RB or a DB so maybe he's "exploring other options" for somewhere that will commit to him on offense. Also said Singletary had held other offers from Florida State, Miami (FL), North Carolina, and Wake Forest.

How is the staff doing with o-linemen as of now there just 1 in the clases would like to see the bring in 2 more like the linemen they brought in last year i dont no if the staff like jc playeras but theres some good jc linemen still insignificantes out there got to upgrade o line

Might be pretty close to done after the 4 players added on Sunday.....12 commits now, with what I counted as 72 underclassmen scholly players = 84 total.....minus any transfers, etc.

Hi sorry for not responding earlier...

Yeah, we should be pretty close to done, about 1-2 spots left I would imagine. I think with Bradley transferring and Jazzmar Clax graduating early there might be one more spot open than previously thought, though there are some walk-ons who are going to be earning scholarships as well.

Shout out to Jim Fuller, I knew about Bradley and thought Clax might go, but he just gave an update on recent attrition and a few more scholly openings in this article:

Another OL commit for UConn
" UConn has 13 commitments and there are 12 seniors on scholarship on the current roster. However, fullback Jazzmar Clax (a redshirt junior) took part in Senior Day festivities before the home finale against Houston indicating that he won't be with the team after this season. Junior receiver Dhameer Bradley already announced via his Twitter account that he is transferring to Sacred Heart. Bradley is one of four players (three on scholarship) no longer on the UConn roster. I was able to confirm that safety Jordan Floyd, offensive lineman Zach Rugg and walk-on linebacker Jack Dexter are no longer a part of the program. "

" If my math is correct (and anybody who reads this blog knows that is a rather large 'if'') I count 69 scholarship players between the freshman, sophomore and junior classes (not including Clax) which would leave UConn with 16 scholarships for this current recruiting class. "

What position of need is next to u i think strong side DE LB ATh skill

Notice this years commits are heavy on the offensive side (9) of the ball so far, to just 4 on D out of 13.....My guess is they may want to look at another DB or 2. Especially since they will have lost 8 DB's in 2 years ..(SR's Adams, Lee and Floyd) plus next year 5 more JR's will be gone: CB's Jhavon Williams, Javon Hadley , John Green and safeties Obi Melifonwu, Ellis Marder

And so far in this years class they only have a QB/ATH who is slated to be safety in Eddie Hahn and CB Tahj Herring to replace those 8.

FWIW, regarding adding another DB..... I just saw some recent rumors regarding a 3-4 star CB who Bob Diaco recruited out of HS in NJ.... possibly transferring from a SEC school as a RS Soph . His father was his HS coach and also the coach of 2 current Uconn players.

Another possible name in the mix now that former Uconn DC Don Brown has left BC for a new gig at Michigan...... KJ Gray has de-committed from the Eagles and says : "Some schools that offered and are still showing interest are UMass, Rutgers and UConn." and ""I had a good relationship with coach Brown because he wanted me to play cornerback for him. I also made this decision to finally see if I wanted to play defense or offense in college."

Interest For B.C. Decommit Gray

Rivals profile: K.J. Gray

With the contact period coming up next week ( 1/14/16 to 1/30/16)...should be more recruiting chatter soon....

Matt Schonvisky‏@MattSchonvisky
Contrary to reports from last night, UConn has not offered NJ RB Jack Curry per sources close to the program #UConn
