In 7 years, the UConn Women went 139-0 in the AAC. The last conference game they lost was the last Big East game they played, to ND in the 2013 Big East Championship game. This article previews the 3 Big East teams who could pick off the UConn women this year on a possible off night: DePaul, Marquette and St. John's:

I am not sure I see it happening, but DePaul did play UConn very tough last year. You can't slack off on them defensively. Fortunately the better depth means the D doesn't get weak down the stretch as it did last time they played DePaul.

Agree with your assesment as well.

I still think Geno's system has been exposed in that we haven't had anyone tough enough to beat the bodies the other top programs throw out at us now. I hope PB is the real thing but she doesnt bring size and that is our biggest issue and has been for 4-5 years.

Yeah but now we have both ONO and Gabriel up front, as well as the Canadian girl Edwards who is a very strongly built power forward. The Canadian girl has the size and game to command major playing time at PF, although I expect Griffin to get the first look there. Do not be surprised if the Canadian kid starts at some point. She and Gabriel bring strong bodies up front to the roster.

Gabriel is a huge mountain of a girl and has those great bloodlines, but I figure she will be eased in slowly. Still with a brother in the NBA the apples probably do not fall far from the same tree and apples from the same tree taste the same usually:

Something else to consider is that the guard corps features 2 players who were #1 overall players in the nation and a 3rd who was the #2 overall player in the nation. When you have that much talent at guard, your frontcourt sometimes just needs to be serviceable people who can play D and rebound (sort of like with the 1999 UConn men). I think UConn might have those elements if Edwards is the Kevin Freeman of this team, ONO is the Jake Voskuhl and Gabriel is the Souleymane Wane. ONO is better offensively than Voskuhl was and a better shotblocker.
