Brought Uconn to the sweet sixteen in one of his final years as the hoops coach. Also was a Dave Gavitt assistant for the 1980 USA Olympic team who never got to play because of the US boycott.

"Uconn was 120-88 during his 8 years and set up Uconn to receive an invitation to join the Big East. After retiring as coach in 1977, Rowe remained as an advisor and fundraiser, was on the search committees that brought Jim Calhoun and Geno Auriemma to UConn and helped raise funds to build Gampel Pavilion."
