"Zermeno is ranked by 247Sports as the 48th-best pro-style passer in the 2021 recruiting class. He had been committed to Princeton since September but did not sign with the FCS program in December...... also had offers from Maryland and San Diego State along with several other Ivy League schools...... threw for 1,633 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for (323 yards and) two scores as a junior ( 2019) at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. California did not play high school football in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. "
