I guess they finally got it done, it's been in the works for awhile, a Boston Beanpot type event for CT.

What: All-Connecticut Division I college hockey tournament
When: Jan. 24-25, 2020
Where: Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport
Who: Yale, Quinnipiac, UConn, Sacred Heart

I have seen UConn hockey games at Bridgeport and it is a great venue. I was hoping they would restart and this seems like it could be a fantastic annual tournament. BTW there is now a craft beer brewery walking distance from this arena called Brewport. I heard they also serve food including pizza and salads and that it's pretty good. The pizza actually served at the WebsterBank arena is not bad for arena pizza.

For Hockey, I'll post the other news in the AAC TV thread...

So it’s confirmed the UConn-SNY partnership continues. Good news.
Well Mike Anthony put another article out that ties in the new hockey tourney, Uconn and questions still in up the air regarding it's hoops package with SNY ..... I'M GLAD HE GETS IT, I hope those minions up at UCONN like Herbst (the lame duck) and Benedict do !!! If they don't understand that this is collusion then it's malpractice on their part.

" SNY’s future with the Huskies is in jeopardy"

What I get out of this article is that Uconn has to play hardball with Aresco regarding losing it's basketball package ( the $$$ and tri-state area, non-streaming exposure) with SNY. If Aresco already allowed Navy to keep it's FB TV deal with CBS as a part of this conference, he better not screw up the side deal with SNY or Uconn's got to play hardball, including leaving the AAC on the table. AND as I said in the other thread I'm talking out of conference games !!!! UConn can't give Aresco and the AAC rights to their OOC games that SNY packages now for over a $1 million a year !

Because as Anthony states: "SNY has held up its end of the bargain with its production, reach and presentation. Production costs currently picked up by SNY would be the responsibility of the school in a different situation. "

"SNY remains hopeful, though fearful. ESPN is wise to want to push UConn basketball to the ESPN+ platform it is trying to grow. It’s just that anything ESPN gains by taking on exclusive airing of UConn basketball does come at expense of UConn............So SNY and its 300-plus hours of annual UConn programming, which goes well beyond games, might no longer be part of the picture. UConn can’t be on board with this potential outcome because UConn does not align with other conference schools in what it offers and what it has received."

Exactly Mike... you can't have a bunch of AAC prez/reps and Aresco negotiating away Uconn's TV rights to OOC games that all these AAC bottom feeders couldn't make a nickle off of.... for their schools.
