This is a preview of NC State. UConn is going to see a little bit of itself as this is a team that goes 11 deep with a mix of returning veterans with a promising recruiting class. Like UConn, NC State is versatile, has some size and can show different looks:
The main man player is Devin Daniels, a transfer from Utah who came on strong at the end of last year and has continued to lead their team this season. He is a 6'5" guard who scores and boards.

Last night vs. UMass Lowell 10 players played 9 or more minutes, with Daniels' 27 leading the team. This will be a hard team to wear down if they play a similar minutes distribution against UConn.

NC State was 20-12 last year, 10-10 in the ACC and is picked 8 out of 15 in the ACC this year.

NC St has gone with 2 different starting line-ups. Twice they started Bates (6-11) and Funderburk (6-10) together. An other time they went with Helloms (6-7) at the 4 and Daniels at the 3. The 2 small guards and Bates have started all 3.

Interesting note on Funderburk. He as an interior offensive player who had 8 assists all of last season- a quarter of an assist per game- and none in the first 3 games this year. He can be considered a black hole by the defense if the ball goes in to him, which means you collapse on him and do not worry about him kicking it out to an open shooter, because he won't.

Thanks for the heads-up. Damn.... crazy season, was looking forward to this match-up. But it is what it is as I said in the the other thread just when you think............. then comes the " ( Covid rules exception) all it takes is one positive for either team... "
Men's Hockey team has also got cancelled for the second week-end in a row by the opposing team.

Maybe Uconn will try to get in that Richmond ( who already beat Kentucky) game on Monday after all.......

Borges write-up....."It’s possible a game against another opponent could be scheduled for Monday, or the Richmond game is revisited. "

Wolfpacker Member,

Thanks for the heads up, and sorry we did not get a chance to play what would have been an interesting matchup game between similar teams. Maybe it's a game that will be played in the NCAA tournament instead but I think the Committee will look for any way possible to put UConn and ASU in the same pod if not game.

I was just listening to WFAN-NY (660 am) which has provided good coverage and updates generally on Big East basketball and the local Big East teams which are St. John's, UConn and Seton Hall. They were talking about how disappointing it is for college basketball fans that the NC State-UConn game was cancelled and the havoc that the so called "Covid Rules" are playing on the schedule and how it's likely to continue for the foreseeable future. The next month might be full of cancellations and rescheduling games on the fly. I do hope UConn can get a game on Monday because they need to work on a lot of things still. They need games and practices right now.
