“Our success [last decade] came from redshirting a bunch of guys and developing them and playing with fifth-year seniors,” Edsall said. “That’s where your success lies for a program likes ours. We’re not an Alabama......Thanks to a new NCAA rule, players can play in up to four games without burning a year of eligibility. Seven Huskies have already appeared in five games and therefore sacrificed their redshirts, but others (such as receiver Heron Maurisseau, guard Christian Haynes, safety Jalon Ferrell, linebacker Hunter Webb and cornerbacks Jeremy Lucien and Shamel Lazarus) have not yet reached that threshold. Edsall said he will reveal Tuesday which players will redshirt..”
