Karl Hobbs

Great opportunity there... He'd be solid for them... Would probably mean RJ Cole stays if that happened too. Miss him and what he did for our guard play as an assistant up here in Storrs CT.. I, for one, think that that was a HUGE loss for Kevin Ollie's staff

I will never forget when UConn, led by Hobbs, went down to Georgetown in Patrick Ewing’s freshman year and beat Georgetown. The guy was a heady player- the kind that makes for a good coach.

+1.....I always thought that Hobbs leaving was a sign that KO was heading down a bad path. And that Karl was the smartest guy in the room as far as where the program was going.. Since IMHO the Rutgers job was nothing more than a lateral move and a title on the best day. (he was making around $300K when he left) ....If I had to guess KO was threatened by both of the HC's Calhoun put on his staff . So if I was Hobbs I would have caught that vibe and got out too.

But there was a reason Calhoun left TWO former head coaches with over 20 years of HC experience on KO's staff..... Because JC constructed a team for him to succeed since he knew with only 2 years of assistant coaching in his life, he would of never been handed that job or be able to do it on his own. Unfortunately the truth is that without JC's players and the staff he put in place, KO sucked. Unfortunately KO thought the NC was all him and turned his back on the very guys that helped him make it happen including JC......
